Streaming live from WWE Franchise dot net's website is a studio interview featuring Shane Douglas and Michael Cole. The Byte This studio is set with two large leather chairs, a coffee table with two mugs on the table, the latest WWE Franchise magazine, and the Byte This logo on the wall between the two chairs on a flat panel television. Cole is wearing a black suit and white tie with a blue shirt. Shane Douglas is dressed in a gray suit with black shirt and red tie. Both men step in front of the camera and sit down. Shane and Cole shake hands as Cole opens the interview.
Michael Cole: Hello WWE Franchise fans, and welcome to a special Survivor Series edition of Byte This only on WWE Franchise dot net. Today I'm speaking with one of the members of the Kings of Controversy and long time WWE Franchise competitor who's been a multi time ECW Champion, TNA Champion, and Intercontinental Champion none other than one of the founding members of the K O C.. The Franchise Shane Douglas! And Shane welcome to the show.
Shane Douglas: Thanks Michael, I've got to say that probably the best introduction I've had in a long time. I'm glad to be here and hopefully answer your questions in addition to the questions from the fans at home.
Shane takes a drink from his mug as Cole picks up the segment.
Michael Cole: Shane lets talk about the past few months. You were behind the movement with Paul Heyman to return to ECW and helped lead that locker room until it's fold. But what stood out during that run was the fact that you aligned yourself with Edge and Scott Hall who each controlled the World Heavyweight and WWE Franchise Championships. You three formed the predecessor to the Kings of Controversy by forming The Clique. What was that process like and how did it come about?
Douglas smirks as Cole ran down the history of the faction and rubs his chin then his lips while sighing. He then looks to Cole before looking into the camera.
Shane Douglas: Well Cole, Scott and Edge as well as myself had a goal in mind as does every superstar in WWE Franchise. That goal is to dominate this company and leave your mark. We started this group to show how easily the balance of power could change around here because there has never and I do mean never been a faction in this company's history that has done what we've done. And in a short amount of time pieces were replaced and made better.
Michael Cole: I assume you're speaking of the moving out of Edge and the additions of Mr.Kennedy and Kurt Angle?
Shane Douglas: Right, and you know it was fun with the three of us but there comes a time when you need back up. You go out and look for that back up by finding the brightest and best who can hang with you. The process was long and selective because we were getting tired of week after week running into this band of misfits known as the Lethal Injection. You see what makes these two faction different than the nWo, Horsemen, D-X, and all of our past factions is that unlike those groups we've delivered on our promises. But what separates us is that The Kings of Controversy only shoots for the top spots, the very best in this company! Kurt Angle got in because he showed Scott Hall and Edge that he's got what it takes to run with the big dogs. Ken Kennedy go in because I saw something in Ken that most people don't see and that's true ability. Put those two together with myself and Scott Hall and there's a machine which is going to rule with experience and dominance.
Cole goes to the phones and takes the first call.
Michael Cole: Douglas, the first call is from Pete in San Jose California. Pete you're on with The Franchise..
Pete: Yeah um, thanks for taking my call.. Shane what do you think of notions from the industry in saying you should be retired and how do you view the Lethal Injection's rank compared to the Kings of Controversy?
Shane raises an eyebrow and then chuckles while answering.
Shane Douglas: Well Pete, the people in this business who think I can't cut it anymore need to step into the ring instead of talking trash. Secondly, the Lethal Injection has the numbers and players to make something of themselves however they're far below us in terms of getting things done. We've showed them of the past few weeks that we're not a team to be messed with. They've jumpped us from behind, cost us matches, and championships. At Survivor Series we look to even the score, we look to take back what belongs to us.
Michael Cole: Next caller, Steve from Venice Beach is on the line. Steve go ahead.
Steve: What was it like Shane to get your ass handed to you by Stinger a few weeks back? What was it like to have the Lethal Injection knocking you out cold and leaving you flat on your back? I hope for sure that they do it again because I can't wait for Survivor Series!
Cole quickly cuts the call off as Douglas comes up out of his chair and looks angry. He yanks his jacket off and slams it down on the floor.
Shane Douglas: I recognized that voice the moment it came on the line Cole.. I hoped you wouldn't have cut him off because you know what? There's nothing I love more than to set the record straight. First off, I had the Intercontinental Championship right here!
Motions to his finger tips.
Shane Douglas: Until he had some friends run to ringside and cost me the title. So what if I defeated you by a disqualification, that wasn't good enough for me. I wanted to hit you where it hurt the most and that was in your pocket! And yes, those goons laid me out but what about last week? What about the match I cost you? You're in a handicapped match with the Hardyz and I put an exclamation point on this mess by laying you out! My apologies to Matt and Jeff, you two just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time but Sting, doing what I did to you was well worth it. And what that did was tell you your time as champion is coming to an end and at Survivor Series it comes to an end!
Michael Cole: May I point out that the incentive for this match up is a major carrot on the proverbial stick here. If Lethal Injection wins, any member of their team gets a shot at Scott Hall's WWE Franchise Championship. While on the other hand if Kings of Controversy win then any one of you will get a shot at the Intercontinental Championship.
Douglas sits back during Cole's speech and then picks his jacket up, dusts it off and lays it on his lap. He points to Cole.
Shane Douglas: All the reason more to put those morons six feet under.
Michael Cole: Well that's all the time we have for now. This has been Byte This and I'm Michael Cole.
Scene ends with the camera and lights going black with the Byte This logo taking over.
